Look Out for Our Exciting New Social Arts Project

Starting this summer and running until 2019, we’re teaming up with Artlink Hull and Hudgell Trust to start an exciting new arts project for people recovering from homelessness, anxiety, social isolation and confidence issues.

We know that sometimes it’s hard for people who have just moved back into independent living to find the confidence to get back out there, whether it’s finding a new job or simply getting on a bus into town. The aim of this project is to encourage people out of the house and into a relaxed and friendly environment, where they can socialise with people in similar situations to them.

We’re big lovers of the arts here at HHCP, and we believe it has its place in helping vulnerable people express themselves in a different way. The more arts we can get involved in, the better.

The course itself is fully funded, and we can also offer help with travel costs for anyone taking part. Sessions will take place for a couple of hours once a week, and the course will last around seven months, with space for between 10 and 15 people to get involved.

There will be a professional artist taking part every week, and participants can focus on whichever art form they prefer, from sketching and painting, to creating sculptures out of clay. When the course has finished, we are arranging a huge exhibition on the bottom floor of K2 Bond Street, where we’ll display all the pieces created over the seven-month period.
