Distraction packs for children at risk

Over the last 8 weeks we have been working hard to support our younger members of the community who are having a really rough time managing with lockdown and isolation. This is a really hard time for lots of families and children trapped in poverty prior to or because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Unfortunately, there are also many children who are living with the daily threat of abuse and neglect, trapped in households that are seemingly impossible to escape from. These children face months without contact with the outside world and the support networks they have been used to.

We decided that we could try and help out, so we have been providing hundreds of children with toys, books and games to help them stay occupied or even soften the impact of having to flee abusive situations during the current crisis. These play and learn distraction packs have been having a huge impact of the children we support; we have started extending these packs to cater for families too.

Children who are currently in situations of isolation and more time indoors are at risk of increased abuse and neglect. We are working with partners to help safeguard these children and brighten their days during lockdown. Your support has been instrumental in us being able to provide these packs.

Thank you to everyone who have donated games, books, and toys and those who have purchased items from our Amazon Wishlist so far. We want to continue this support for as long as possible.
