Our strategy and vision

We exist to support anyone affected by or at risk of homelessness, poverty and crisis in hull and the surrounding area. We support many different people such as victims of domestic abuse, victims of crime, modern slavery victims, sofa surfers, families, veterans, those in temporary accommodation or rough sleeping. Homelessness is a varied and wide reaching social issue with no typical person or group of people affected.

We provide a unique community outreach program that supports people in the community with advocacy and peer support. We also run several dedicated specialist drop in sessions on a weekly basis in safe environments for vulnerable women, victims of modern slavery and a general open to all drop in session.

Our move on project is a another unique service that supports a range of people referred to us by our partner organisations out of crisis and into independent living. We support and advocate through the while process, source accommodation, essential items and teach the skills to make a permanent move out of homelessness and into independence. This is a long term support process that ensures people do not lose basic support once they are housed.

During Covid-19 we are running a dedicated response to support adults and children to maintain their independence, avoid crisis and abuse. We are providing emergency food and essential items to ensure no one goes hungry. We are providing distraction packs for at risk children to help them cope with the isolation and pressure of being out of school. We are also helping those most in need keep the lights on by providing gas and electric top ups.
